Like 13ghosts, this project between Bavarian The Notwist and American hip-hoppers Themselves is a very subtle and quiet one, however, it demands just a little bit more attention. The sound effects as well as the rapping randomly ask for listening, and it’s rewarding.

Tijuana Panthers

Tijuana Panthers looking harmless …

This band really gave me some nice kitchen dances with air guitars and head banging – it’s swamp-infused monster rockabilly of the good kind. Rolling Stone calls them garage poppers – this doesn’t quite do it for me, but it’s hard to describe the sound, although I’d let myself down to use the word beat music.

This is one of those (hard-) rock bands which I found interesting enough in my 20s. My music taste has developed in a different direction, but I couldn’t yet hit the delete button because somehow, the songs are crafted enough and despite the fact that I just found out it’s christian rock.

Maybe hit delete after all …

The 101

For me, music of this band perfectly fits as background for doing stuff at home despite the fact that it’s really more on the punky side. Not too demanding nor aggressive, but driving and melodious nevertheless.
