Tijuana Panthers

Tijuana Panthers looking harmless …

This band really gave me some nice kitchen dances with air guitars and head banging – it’s swamp-infused monster rockabilly of the good kind. Rolling Stone calls them garage poppers – this doesn’t quite do it for me, but it’s hard to describe the sound, although I’d let myself down to use the word beat music.

Mr. Flash – Blood, Sweat & Tears EP (2010)

It just had to be in the middle of the night, after coming home from a decent dinner with a friend, that I stumbled upon this one. And it was because I was looking for some good old music, too.

The EP going by the same name as the band, Blood, Sweat & Tears, that I was initially looking for, emerged from french Ed Banger label. Something completely different. But, nonetheless, it had me dance into bed rather than fall asleep too quickly.

Zulu Winter – Language (2012)

Zulu Winter’s long awaited debut album came out recently.

Catchy pop and disco tunes with some good drum work, as known by Two Door Cinema Club, along with a warm, dark sound create a dense atmosphere that fans of the Killers will probably like. The voice reminds me a little of Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, but the music is far more interesting and makes me move quite a bit.
