It’s been a while since I last heard such calming, peaceful and yearning music. Glen Hansard creates this warm atmosphere like Van Morrison does in his slower songs, but his vocal talent is definitely individual enough to stand out next to Morrison’s.

The songwriting is very solid, the arrangements subtle, and occasional outbursts do not diminish the joy one can have indulging in a glass of wine and a Glen of Hansard (sorry for that pun).
